Weaver’s Threads is a community-oriented project that celebrates Stockport’s rich textile heritage while embracing contemporary practices such as upcycling and 3D fabric printing. Designed as a flexible civic space, the project provides educational workshops, communal areas, and exhibition zones that encourage collaboration, learning, and local enterprise. The facade is a parametric modelled curtain wall inspired by weaving patterns. It acts as an architectural gesture that references the town’s textile legacy while asserting a contemporary identity. The dynamic curvature and repetition of elements evoke the fluidity of woven cloth, translating material heritage into spatial experience.
